We bought some meringuettes (which really means small meringues) in Rocamadour, in the Dordogne region. It’s a beautiful little village but much more touristy that what we expected.
The village is actually a popular stop on the Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage and the church was carved right out of the mountain. Isn’t that majestic?
Anyway back to these beauties… They are so pretty and maybe the best meringues that I have had in my life. Not too eggy, not too sweet and they give away under just the right amount of pressure when handled.
After gobbling 3 of these every morning with a cup of tea, I decided to get a little creative and put together this quick dessert. This was as delicious as it looks!
You probably have all these ingredients at hand anyway.
You’ll need plain yoghurt or fromage frais, fresh strawberries and crushed meringues. That’s it, all in that order. You can also add some agave syrup or honey if the strawberries are not sweet enough. Enjoy!
Also, I am in love with ceramics. I mean look at this baby ceramic jug – ugh!
